Throughout this course you will find numerous templates for your use. These resources are useful while navigating through the modules and during your entire wedding planning career!
Each file is explained throughout this course and can be found in the “Materials” tab in the lesson it is introduced. You may find it easier to have all files accessible in one document which is why we are providing you with this file. Resources are divided into three sections: a) Canva Templates, b) Google Sheets Templates, and c) eBooks & Guides. Information on the three sections is described below.
Websites + Applications
Before diving into the templates, take a look at these useful websites and applications. As a wedding planner you will be using a lot of visual tools. These tools all have a free version available with some having the option to upgrade to a paid/premium version.
For now, just take some time to get to know them, and later in the course we’ll teach you how to use them for different aspects of designing a wedding ceremony and reception:
- Canva is probably the most popular tool that non-designers can use to create beautiful designs. Here’s a video of it in action: How To Canva DIY Wedding Invitation and Menu
- Google Sheets is a free version of Microsoft Excel. This resource is extremely useful for budgeting and any long lists you may create. There are plenty of tutorials available, but it will only be necessary to know the basics. To use this resource sign up for a free Google account if you do not already have on (consider creating a professional account for yourself).
- Pinterest is a great resource to get inspired. There are millions of images other people have already found useful (and beautiful). You can search Pinterest by keywords (for example, “wedding invitations” or more specifically “vintage wedding invitations”).
- To easily create seating plans, use tools like Seating Plan Solutions.
- To draw floor plans we recommend using 2 software programs: www.Socialtables.com (a paid subscription software with a FREE 14 day trial) and www.3deventdesigner.com (there is no free trial version in this software, only a monthly subscription of $9.95 per month – which you can cancel at anytime).

Wedding Budget Form
PURPOSE: Keep track of all spending in one comprehensive place. This sheet can also be used to demonstrate to clients realistic weddings costs.
You and your client will need to discuss the importance of being realistic and setting priorities. Most of the money will go towards the reception so remind your clients to be aware of how many people they invite to the reception.
Wedding Planning Timeline
PURPOSE: Organize everything needed to be done and ensure nothing is missed or forgotten.
Ideally, you would have a year to plan everything and make sure the venue is available, but it is not essential. This sample is based on a 12 month planning schedule but can be adapted to meet your needs.
Additionally to your list, it is recommended to make a copy for your clients with only their specific tasks.
Sample Wedding Day Itinerary
PURPOSE: a complete list of everything needed to be done on your client’s wedding day so you can always be one step ahead.
The Wedding Day Itinerary does not include particulars like attendees, directions, or duration.
You should create a separate event schedule for each event you are servicing: e.g., the engagement party, the rehearsal dinner, and the reception.
Wedding Decor Checklist
PURPOSE: your go-to place to keep track of all wedding decor. Estimated budgets are also included to keep your clients on track.
This checklist covers everything involved with the furniture, decor, cutlery, crockery, and florals that are around or on the tables at the event.
Ceremony Designs eBook
PURPOSE: Showing clients their different options and familiarizing yourself with industry jargon.
Many people simply overlook the ceremony design in their wedding planning, which is a shame as the wedding ceremony is one of the most important parts of the day! This eBook is a great resource to show clients who are lost on where to start their ceremony planning.
Top 5 Wedding Songs
PURPOSE: providing a launching point for making song recommendations for your clients.
Music can be a beautiful and moving part of any wedding, and personalised selection of the music can add much in terms of meaning for the couple.
Many couples value a traditional song that their guests will know, whereas others are partial to a unique approach. Songs can be played in their original version, a cover, or a live acoustic version. There is not a right or wrong answer — let your clients have fun with it!
Ultimate Wedding Table Centrepiece Guide
PURPOSE: Familiarizing yourself with the names of different settings, and also be up to date with the latest trends in table centerpieces.
The centrepieces that you select should fit into the wedding theme selected. Centrepieces can include fresh flowers, candles, or other items relating to the theme of the wedding.
Even if you hire a Wedding Stylist you need to provide direction of the type of centrepiece and theme required. It’s important to know the latest styles and themes and designs available.
